At Hull Stingrays Community Foundation, we offer unique and individualised learning opportunities to engage and motivate students. Using our resources at the Club and the Hull Arena, students will have the chance to develop their skills and knowledge through a series of accredited courses and apprenticeship schemes starting in January 2012.

 

If Sport and Leisure gets your heart pumping, then our Education and Apprenticeship program is the perfect course for you.

 
Programme Details:
 
Hull Stingrays Community Learning Programme (16-18 Years)

This is an introductory course into the world of sports coaching and will prepare learners for the apprenticeship programme. This is a 13 week course and learners will attend for 18.5 hours per week. 

 

Qualifications include; Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership (formerly JSLA), NOCN Level 1 Certificate in Progression and NOCN Functional Skills in Literacy and Numeracy. 

*Learners will receive travel allowance payments up to £20 per week for attending the course.

 

Hull Stingrays NVQ Sport Activity Leadership Level 2 Apprenticeship (16-18 Years)

Successful students will then progress from the foundation learning community coaching programme to the apprenticeship programme. This is a 24 week programme at 30 hours per week.

 

 Qualifications include; Keys skills: Communication Level 1 & Application of Number Level 1, 1st 4Sport Level 2 Award in Employment Awareness for the Leisure and Learning Industry, Emergency First Aid for Sport, Child Welfare and Health & Safety Awareness and Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership as well as the overall NVQ Sport Activity Leadership qualification.

 *Learners will receive payment of £75 per week.
